This mix CD is unlike the turntable driven, on-the-fly, aux-natural KOMPAKT DJ mixes you’ve come to love and enjoy – SPEICHER CD3 is a purely digital mix so admittedly yes, there’s been some cheating in bringing these tunes together. POP AMBIENT returns…and beyond the usual anticipation, for a cause. We celebrate a decade of annual bliss with POP AMBIENT 2010! Certainly a cornerstone of the house of KOMPAKT and early awaited by followers alike. Newcomers may ask – so what is POP AMBIENT? A genre? Possibly. A statement of musical mindset? Absolutely!
POP AMBIENT was conceived by KOMPAKT co-owner and producer WOLFGANG VOIGT and remains a collection selected and curated by VOIGT.
POP AMBIENT remains an ambitious entity of KOMPAKT that certainly draws influence from his legendary GAS recordings of the late ’90′s . The musical context often characterizes densely layered ambient soundscapes that are not concerned with beats, percussion or basslines.
Throughout POP AMBIENT’s editions, the music has evolved ever so naturally – almost characterizing the blossoming of the floral arrangements that have graced the series covers year after year.

“lozee” assurera la première partie de la HI-FIdelity party avant le dj set de florian combe.
de 22h à 22h30 il improvisera avec son violoncelle accompagné de sa voix unique et des images de sa compagne emeline ulasien. un moment unique de performance vidéo-musicale à ne rater sous aucun prétexte.
Le passé artistique de LoZee est aussi varié que les sonorités de son premier album, “Tell it to the sea”. À huit ans Raphaël commence son histoire avec le violoncelle et il devient rapidement le “little local hero”. À 13 ans, après s’être acheté une basse électrique rouge pétante, il monte son premier groupe avec son ami Marc Dold qui, lui, deviendra un producteur de remixes demandé (Peter Gabriel, Enya, Norah Jones…). Marc lui offrira son « sound-design » dans la partie “solo” du morceau “Grey”.
À 17 ans, Raphaël est membre de l’Orchestre National des Jeunes Suisses et a le privilège d’accompagner des artistes comme Jon Lord (Deep Purple), Daniel Schnyder; The Nits et de nombreux autres musiciens.
À 22 ans, Raphaël s’installe à Francfort pour ses études de musique. Après il part s’installer à Barcelone souhaitant ardemment trouver une expression musicale plus personnelle. Dans la capitale catalane, Raphaël découvre sa voix et des nouvelles sonorités. Les mots commencent à surgir avec le violoncelle et les premières chansons prennent forme. Bientôt, Raphaël est impliqué dans la vie musicale de la ville, ses collaborations influençant fortement son écriture. Toujours en quête de nouveaux horizons, Raphaël déménage à Paris et commence à jouer dans de nombreuses petites salles ainsi que dans des studios d’enregistrement de la capitale française. « Vousmag » l’a nommé « Le Helvet Underground » dans son journal du printemps 2008. Avec « Tell it to the sea » LoZee ne se manifeste pas que comme « Helvet Underground » et marque la prochaine étape d’un futur voyage musical…

“Tell it to the sea”, le premier album de LoZee regroupe 14 titres qui nous emmènent dans un monde d’espoir, de couchers de soleil et d’interrogations, au travers de chansons emplies de paix et de mélancolie. Le timbre vocal unique de LoZee présente un contrepoint délicat aux sonorités particulières du piano, des guitares et du violoncelle, accompagné par le son des basses rondes et des bateries profondes.

La chanson “But You” est la retranscription d’un rêve. Il y rencontre son âme sœur dans un paysage d’été :”…Someone else but you could never know, what it means to me, when you open your eyes…”, déambule sans sommeil dans les rues dans “Moonshine” et évoque le temps : “…The years passed by so incredibly fast, is turning back the time made out of tales?…”. Il remet le pouvoir des grandes nations en question, parle de l’environnement dans “Blind” : “…The Kyoto protocol could help us all, but there is a big country that quit the call. Are they blind, so blind?”
LoZee ayant vécu à Barcelone, Paris et à New York “Tell it to the sea” est devenu un album cosmopolite enregistré avec des musiciens parmi lesquels Peter Scherer, Skúli Sverisson, Ben Wittman, Caspar St. Charles, Jessica Custer, Marc Durif ou Gorka Prieto, à Paris, Brooklyn N.Y. et Barcelone.
Ayant tourné et enregistré avec des artistes aussi divers que DIE TOTEN HOSEN, Glashaus, Alexandre Varlet ou Alexandra Roos, LoZee – alias Raphaël Zweifel – est aussi à l’aise dans les espaces intimistes que sur les scènes gigantesques.

tout d’abord signé sur CLOSER MUSIK puis BROKE, il sort aujourd’hui son second album sur le prestigieux label KOMPAKT. depuis un an Matias est l’un des producteurs, artistes les plus en vue du milieu électro et après une série de maxis qui a défrayé la chronique il sort enfin son nouvel album qui selon les dires des boss de KOMPAKT est certainement l’album le plus audacieux jamais produit par KOMPAKT. Aussi original que GUI BORATTO, mais vocal à 100% « Ay Ay Ay » déclenche déjà les acclamations, puisqu’après une écoute à Cologne dans les studios de KOMPAKT, le rédac chef de TRAX en fait SA COUVERTURE pour son numéro d’ OCTOBRE. ATTENTION la couv de l’album est signée TREVOR JACKSON !

Chilean born, German raised MATIAS AGUAYO is one of those rare talents you come across that genuinely works in music for the sake of loving music. KOMPAKT’s long, love affair with MATIAS AGUAYO runs all the way back to his first official act (together with Dirk Leyers) as CLOSER MUSIK back in 2000. Le groupe électronique islandais Gus Gus se forme à Reykjavik en 1995. A la base, le groupe est conçu pour des activités cinématographiques. Il comprend alors les réalisateurs Stefan Arni et Siggi Kjartansson. La formation s’élargit avec l’arrivée progressive du DJ Herb Legowitz, du programmeur Biggi Thorarinsson, des chanteurs / compositeurs Daniel Agust, Hafdis Huld et Magnus Jonsson et du producteur Baldur Stefansson. Après avoir signé des maxis intitulés Club mix EP, Gus Gus enregistre son premier album Polydistortion en 1997. Suivent les albums This is Normal en 1999 et Gus Gus vs the world en l’an 2000. Ils reviennent à l’été 2002 avec Attention et en mars 2007 sort Forever.

“You could compare GusGus´s 6th studio album with a whale. An animal that spends most of it´s time under the surface, but when it comes up above sea-level, it usually surfaces with a magnificent speciality – much like the latest GusGus creation. Therefore, you should not glean over this work; every moment of it is laid out with painstaking and elaborate candour.  24/7 is a wet dream The spine of the music is original, created in the “intestines” of GusGus. “On the Job” is the working man´s phrenetic song to the unbroken animal called love. The opus “Thin Ice´” describes the bloated donkey dancing on ice. And in “Add This Song” the listener is encouraged to add that particular song to his collection. The GusGus analogue sound environment has never been better, and Daniel Agust´s vocals take the reigns again and thus opens the group’s variability to new heights. As on previous occasions GusGus performs a song written by Jimi Tenor, the fantastic “Take me Baby” where Jimi Tenor is a guest singer. ”Hateful” is a pretty family-type song that GusGus and Aaron-Carl composed together while being on different sides of the Atlantic.”

A Paris, la boutique Colette diffuse les tendances au fil des saisons et des créations. Ce concept store emblématique de la rue St Honoré accueille différents espaces consacrés à la mode, aux cosmétiques, à la littérature, au design et aux nouveautés high-tech, le tout sur 700 m² répartis sur trois étages. Colette est également un lieu d’exposition pour des artistes issus d’horizons totalement différents, allant de la photographie à la peinture en passant par le graffiti. Ils y présentent leurs oeuvres au premier étage.

Au sous-sol le Bar à Eau fait office d’espace détente et propose à ses happy shoppeurs la dégustation d’une des 100 eaux référencées sur la carte où l’on trouve également les plats du jour. Colette décline les tendances en réservant à ses clients de nombreuses exclusivités avec les créateurs pour que votre passage reste une expérience unique.
